Final goods inventory  was reduced by more than 50% while service-level remained unchanged.

Background and contents of the project

In first phase the structure of production had been optimized and changes were executed. Operational model of the new structure and production planning principles set big challenges to production planning and flexibility.

PlaNet Logistics helped customer to define production planning processes and to optimize critical batch sizes and running sequences in production. A cost-based tool (Oracle Production Scheduling Process) was used in optimization. Customer’s personnel was committed to results and new process in mutual workshops.

New production planning principles, contents, liabilities and tools were developed and defined as outcome of the project.
